Broken Dirt
It's official, we have broken dirt. Our house construction has finally began and we are very excited. This week (July 9th) we are expecting to begin the foundation pouring. I don't plan on making this a house building blog report but this is big news for our family as we are exited to move to a larger house and even a new zip code.
In addition to the house news the summer is keeping us busy as usual. The girls are great and we are having fun taking them swimming when possible and enjoying the summer weather here in Portland. I've said it once and I'll say it again, you can't beat summer's in Portland.
Fourth of July came and went and we have a small little BBQ at our house. The Hauks, Lindbergs, Kincaids and Alvarez' came over and celebrated our nations independence. This was the first year Izzy and Jackson were able to participate in the fireworks display . . who knew sparklers could be such fun. Pictures to follow . .yes Matt I hear ya :)
Last weekend we went to Woodland for a wedding. My cousin Kenny got married, and it was nice chance to catch up with members of my mom's side of the family. My Grandparents actually stayed with us, which was a nice treat. We are looking forward to heading back to the reservation this summer to spend some time hiking around their 40 acres of brush and hills. I hope Izzy loves it as much as I did when I was a kid.
This weekend is paintball. Yep, a group of us guys plan to go out to Molalla and shoot each other with hardened pieces of paint in the hopes of living out our wartime fantasies without losing any limbs or going overseas. Should be fun.
That's all for now . . .
